Working strictly within a genre of their own making (Hidden Folk), Moss Moss Not Moss' compositions inhabit the spaces between indeterminacy and fixed-endurance sound event.
Rebecca Bruton (Canada) is a violinist, vocalist and composer. She works in avant-pop/folk, improvised music, violin/voice performance and electroacoustic composition. Rebecca’s solo performance practice, ‘Lilman,’ was featured in ‘The Calgary Collection,’ a documentary that showcases innovative folk practitioners.
a rawlings’ (Canada/Iceland/Scotland) genre-bending work embraces acoustic ecology, counter-mapping, and ecopoetics. Her book Wide slumber for lepidopterists (Coach House Books) was adapted as music theatre by VaVaVoom, Bedroom Community, and Valgeir Sigurðsson. rawlings has penned libretti for Davíð Brynjar Franzson and Gabrielle Herbst.
For Tectonics Music Festival, the duo debuts Áfall / Trauma, a study in polyvocal affect translating dysfluency.
